The Opportunity
We are looking for an intermediate IT Project Manager II to join our team. This individual will support the AVP, IT Applications and QA in managing the IT project backlog. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of product managers, architects, developers, quality specialists and others, this individual will ensure projects of all sizes are managed and delivered effectively. You will use your expertise in project management methodology to make recommendations for continuous improvements on our intake, planning and deliver processes.
How you will contribute:
- Manage projects; Create project plans and manage dependencies in accordance with project team needs
- Establish scope of the project; monitor and control scope to ensuring focus on delivery
- Establish roles and responsibilities in the project; Create project plans and manage dependencies in accordance with project team needs
- Identify resource requirements, set expectations, and manage stakeholders to enable efficient and effective achievement of project outcomes
- Manage reporting for all work packages within the project.
- Help manage IT project portfolio; develop and manage long-range plans and implementation road maps based on business priorities and technology strategy
- Assist Applications team with application development/release scheduling
- Adhere to policies/procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable
The experience you need:

- 10+ previous or current work experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably with exposure to mortgage lending.
- Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation), relationship building and analytical skills.
- 3-5 years of relevant IT Project Management experience
- Track record managing IT projects
- Strong understanding of Agile project management principles and practices and experience managing projects in an Agile environment.
- Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to work with, and influence, all types of professionals.
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., CA PPM) and techniques.
- PMP certification.
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM) is an asset.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:
- Office environment
- Periods of high volume with tight timelines
- Long periods of stationary position/sitting
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
- Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
- Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
